Stud Terms

Aligning with our beliefs and goals that we are here for the betterment of the breed, we have chosen to make some of our Imported & Saffioraire bred males available at stud to selected females. If you are interested in one of our males to use at stud please see below our general terms. Once you have read these and are satisfied and wish to enquire to us about the availability of using one of our males, please email us on: saffioraire@gmail.com for a full stud contract and to discuss things further. 

ANY MALES LISTED AS AVAILABLE AT SAFFIORAIRE ARE STANDING AT STUD UNDER THE FOLLOWING TERMS

AUSTRALIA

  1. Our males are available within Australia to registered ANKC dogs ONLY. Any imported FCI registered females must first be re-registered with the ANKC and in all cases proof of registration provided. 

  2. Females must have completed all relevant health checks, including but not limited to:
    - X-rayed for Hip & Elbow dysplasia and scored by one of the approved scoring veterinarians within Australia 
    - MDR1 
    - DM
    - Proof of pedigree via DNA for any "clear by parentage"
    - Up to date veterinary health clearance - can be completed at the time of mating, prior to mating taking place.

  3. We make our males available via live side by side veterinary AI/ TCI or via chilled semen ONLY.

  4. All veterinary costs pertaining to the AI/ TCI or collection, chilling and shipping of semen of the male are the responsibility of the owner of the female. 

  5. We understand that we live rurally and thus are wiling to travel to our closest reputable reproductive vet being Bannockburn Veterinary Clinic, Bannockburn, Victoria. Any requests for matings outside of this clinic will be at our discretion, and if agreed upon will incur an additional charge depending on distance from the above stated clinic. 

  6. Prior to any mating taking place we request a $500 non refundable deposit, which is deductible from the stud fee. 

  7. Stud fees are set on an individual dog basis, with the average being $5000 for an imported male and $4000 for a Saffioraire Bred male. This is subject to change at any time and will be confirmed in writing at the time of enquiry and agreed upon by the signing of the stud contract. 

  8. Any and all paperwork required for the registration of the resulting litter must be provided to us for completion at the time of mating, alongside a completed and signed copy of the stud contract. 

INTERNATIONAL

  1. Our males are available outside of Australia. Females living in overseas countries must be registered with their relevant FCI governing body (excepting the USA) and all breeding licence requirements for that country must be fulfilled and supplied. Females in the USA must be registered with either an FCI representative body or the UKC. In all cases proof of registration must be provided. 

  2. Females must have completed all relevant health checks, including but not limited to:
    - X-rayed for Hip & Elbow dysplasia 
    - MDR1
    - DM
    - Proof of pedigree via DNA for any "clear by parentage"

  3. We make our males available to overseas females via Frozen Semen ONLY. 

  4. All veterinary costs pertaining to the collection, freezing and shipping of semen of the male are the responsibility of the owner of the female. 
    Each collection from the male will be frozen in its entirety, with a report being provided at the time of collection from the collecting vet, and the buyer is entitled to the entire collection not a portion of. A collection is sold to the buyer in its entirety and is broken down into "breeding units" as determined in the report supplied by the collecting vet. 

  5. Any frozen semen sold overseas is non transferrable without express written permission. 

  6. Prior to the release of semen for shipping a single stud fee must be paid upfront, with the agreed remaining breeding unit/s stud fees to be paid for upon use and a successful litter occurring.
